Community Achievement Awards

Each year, the Recreation and Parks staff submits nominations to recognize individuals, businesses and non-profits that have made significant contributions to help the City provide excellent recreation services and programs. Winners are selected by the Foundation Board of Trustees and recognized by the Mayor and Council in conjunction with National Recreation and Parks Month.  Below are the winners from the past few years.

2023 Awards Winners

The City of Rockville Mayor and Council joined with the Foundation to honor Matt Verdel, Matt Fryer, Scott DeGasperis and Ray Van Ryzin for their contributions to recreation and parks in the City.

2019 Awards Winners

The City of Rockville Mayor and Council joined with the Foundation to honor Tom Najjar of Care Plus Home Care, and Amy Crone of the Maryland Farmers Market Association for their contributions to recreation and parks in the City.

2018 Awards Winners

The City of Rockville Mayor and Council joined with the Foundation to honor Art Paholski of Sandy Spring Bank, the Montgomery College Student Construction Association, and the Emmes Corporation for their contributions to recreation and parks in the City.
